Salesforce for Charities

Is Salesforce a good tool for charities?

Although Salesforce was originally designed as a B2B Sales tool, meaning that it is designed for businesses to sell things to other businesses, things have come a long way since then.

Salesforce is currently used by a staggering 40,000 nonprofits worldwide! So it absolutely can meet all your nonprofit needs, whether that’s fundraising, program management, service delivery, volunteer management, membership programs, call centres, board management or completely bespoke business processes.

Which types of charities are a good fit for Salesforce?

Although nonprofits are often considered a sector, they are a very diverse sector with a multitude of different needs. At Salesforce Mentor we have worked with and mentor organisations in the disability, advocacy, environment, health, international community development, first nations, LGBTQIA+, education and government spaces. Salesforce has helped organisations in all these categories be more effective and achieve more with technology.

We often hear organisations say that Salesforce isn’t a good solution for nonprofits, and inevitably when we dig a little deeper with these organisations, the truth is that THEIR Salesforce solution is the problem, not Salesforce itself. Salesforce is incredibly powerful and flexible, but unfortunately that can mean that if it isn’t set up properly it can hinder organisation’s performance.
